Color & Order Words - Seven Blind
Fish Vocabulary
– whole elephant giant strange Days of the Week
This lesson is
a spin-off of “Three Blind Mice”. Seven blind fish swim out to investigate a
“strange” new object in their ocean. They all make a guess what they think it
could be but all of the other fish are skeptical. The lesson includes all of the
days of the week, color words and many ordinal words. This lesson would be a
good lesson to act out as a retelling. Encourage children to use similar
vocabulary words during their performance. |

Comprehension - Five Little Bugs Vocabulary – went over little
out said can
This lesson is a spin-off of
“Five Little Ducks”. Several reading skills are practiced in this lesson.
Created to read aloud as a group. Students will start slowly but will catch on
to the rhythm of the story in a choral reading style. Each time a bug does not
return, numbers will count how many bugs remain. Ask students to count along and
predict what will happen next. Ask students to identify the rhyming words and
retell the story at several points. This lesson could also be used drawing
conclusions. “What happened to the missing bugs?”
